Dear GV,

Thanks so much for making me sit through an hour and 45 minute lecture from the world's most boring librarian on how rad your eJournal system is. Also, thanks for making liars out of yourselves when I tried to do my biblio search tonight and EVERY. STINKING. THING. I wanted you didn't own or have rights to access. Great to include them in the database and not have access to them. That's awesome. You're fucking amazing.

Dear Nubby Finger Guy,

Stop coming in and giving me money with your missing below the knuckles fingers. You have five more on the other hand I'd be more than ok with. Nubbies are not my favorite.

Dear People Wanting Free Things From Me,

I'm not kidding when I tell you we don't have any Buy 1 Get Something Else deals. I am not hoarding them in a corner. I am not kidding you for fun. I am not entertained by you asking me 65 times the same question. The answer is, and will always be, NO. Go away.

Dear Lady That Bitches About Prices,

Is it necessary to complain irately about the price of things and then drop nearly a $20 spot on instant lotto tickets? Do you think you prove your point about being a broke ass when you make irresponsible spending choices immediately following? You don't. Try getting hit by lightning. Your chances are better than hitting the big lotto and changing your life like magic. Irony is lost on you, me thinks.

Dear BIC Hi-Lighter,

I adore you, really, but do you have to die TWICE in the same reading and then leak brillant yellow goo all over me like I was personally party to the destruction of Chernobyl? Is that really necessary? No, thank you kindly. How does one even get nuclear highlighting goo off their hands? I haven't the foggiest.

Dear Watermelon,

I love you. The end.

Dear Printer Ink,

I know that you've been telling me, for weeks probably, that you were almost gone. I know that I have not paid you enough attention. I know I'm an evil printer owner and should likely be locked up for negligence, but did you really have to stop printing every third plus page when I needed to print my Biblio for school tomorrow? You're probably right, I had it coming. I'll see about feeding you new ink tomorrow. Sorry. :(

Love, kisses, and tiny literary moments to all of you,

M

mechanicalhyena @ 05:55 pm: KYYYYLE! OJ recipe
Hey Mule, this is for you.

Orange Cider

Serving Size 1 Coffee Mug (the 8-10 oz kind, not the huge ones.)

Ingrediants:
1/2 gallon pulp free OJ (if you can get low acid pulp free, even better)
3 bags plain black tea (no Earl Grey, no English Breakfast, plain black tea)
3 bags Mint tea (decaff is the most common)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves (ground or whole)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder or cayenne pepper

Mix all spices and OJ together in big boiler pot.

Heat on stovetop to simmering over medium heat (bring it up slowly folks, do not use high heat)

The smell will change slowly the closer it is to simmering.

Once the OJ is hot, add the 6 tea bags. Be careful not to to stir too roughly, you don't want them to break.

It can take between 15 and 20 minutes for the Orange Cider to come to a simmer, sometimes more or less, depending on what your pressure is.

The resulting concoction will be thicker than regular OJ, caffeinated, very low acid, clear out your sinuses, and blast your immune system with amazing vitamins and immune boosty stuff.

For an extra kick, drop a lemon-lime airborne in it.

Serve steamy hot. Slurp mightily.

Refrigerates well, can be stored in a plastic kool-aid pitcher. Do not store in metal. Shake or stir after, as it has a tendency to settle. Microwave until hot, usually 2 minutes.

Can be made with Apple juice (use 3 reserve apple cider style apple juice if you must, but it's not nearly as good as the OJ).

torakhan @ 12:27 pm: FurAffinity question
So to those artists (and other users too) out there who use FA:
Would you be willing to pay a subscription fee for FA?
If so, how much would seem fair for what you get out of it?

If you got extra features that non-paying members got, would you pay for it?

Do you think you or some of the artists who use FA would be willing to either donate the proceeds of one commission to FA, either in an auction, or just donate one commission's payment outright to the site?

Lisbon is very hot, but very very cool.

Having a great time in Portugal. The first event, last night, drew an overflow crowd. My apologies to all those who had to stand, but thanks for staying. The warmth and hospitality of my hosts and my Portuguese readers will be something I will long remember.

We have another Lisbon signing this evening, and have added a fourth event, for Thursday, this one in Porto.

torakhan @ 09:35 am: This Weekend...
Today I get out of work at 3pm. I don't have to be back to work until Monday at 9am. That means I've got a long weekend.

Now, for most normal people, that would mean I'd get out and head to the bar and start to live up the 4th of July weekend and party and walk in 4 days later aching from a hang-over. However for me, this more than likely means 4 days of sitting at home and wondering why there's nothing good on TV over such a week/weekend.

So if you're local and you've got some plans set up, lemme know.
I think Matt and I are going to try to hit Hancock and/or Wall•E today, either at the 9, or maybe try to call up the Muskegonites and see what they're up to.

And for your amusement... Carlos Mencia's emo song video:

**AHEM**

Thanks to a very "special" person on Deviant Art...I will now be going to Shinkoku, Tokyo, where my Daring Sephiroth is being held captive against his will in an experimental tube. We will be eloping from there, and as one, we will wreck havoc upon this Earth. Together, we shall rule, and you all shall die...well, I'll spare the ones I love the most, k? ^_^

Don't worry, we'll still name the kids after you!

dakuyoru @ 02:18 am: Damn it...
My head races, and my pulse quickens as I try to sleep. I try to quiet my thoughts, but to no avail. I've slept only four hours in the past two days. I'm exhausted, but I can't stop now...I have too much to do. Eight homework assignments due before Monday, a house to clean, and a lifetime of artwork to recover. Suck. I am SO giving myself a pedicure and manicure today, dammit! I was kinda hoping to go downtown and maybe hang out at the beach...but I don't really have anyone to come with me, and I hear that it's going to storm, anyway. It doesn't matter...I'll be coming back to Michigan tomorrow, anyway...

I've also realized that I need new friends, and I need to get out of where I live now. I just need a change. Gomen, nani mo kamo makutsuku, Porte-San. I need a break from everything familiar right now. I need to meet new people and experience new things....or become a total recluse. And if I'd had my way...I'd be on a plane by now...headed for Japan. One thing I pride myself on is the ability to survive. I've had nothing and no one before, and I've gotten by...and I have no doubts that I can do it again. In fact, I've found it to be quite liberating in the past.

And for whom it concerns...I'm going to be honest, because we've been friends for too damn long for me not to be honest....
Damn it, I gave you a way out years ago, and I've continued to give you ways out since. I hate to sound like Randall from Clerks, but I really need you to either shit or get off the pot. If you're not willing to take my hand and do what you can to change things around for yourself, then there's really nothing more that I can do for you. I'm sorry, I love you, but don't expect me to feel sorry for you anymore. I need to make a change for myself, too...we could do it together...if only you'd just take my hand...it really is that simple.
