11:29 pm: Whoopie done been made.
Some of you know my friend Drow. Hell some of you introduced me to him, and/or have known him a lot longer or better. However, I'm not sure how many of you know he is now a daddy. Not only that his sons (yes plural) made the local news. (I couldn't figure out how to steal embed the video, let me know if you've got an idea how).

The interview is true is done in true Drow fashion.

03:16 pm: The death of a legend
Sad News:

Gary Gygax, one of the co-creators of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, according to Stephen Chenault, CEO of Troll Lord Games. (my emphasis - weso)

Gygax designed the original D&D game with Dave Arneson in 1974, and went on to create the Dangerous Journeys and Lejendary Adventure RPGs, as well as a number of board games. He also wrote several fantasy novels.

"I don't think I've really grokked it yet," said Mike Mearls, the lead developer of the upcoming 4th edition of Dungeons and Dragons. "He was like the cool uncle that every gamer had. He shaped an entire generation of gamers."

Gygax was not directly involved with Dungeons & Dragons after 1985, and his relationship with his former company, TSR Inc., was not friendly at first. The company sued him over his competing game Dangerous Journeys, and in a 2004 interview with GameSpy he stated that he was "pleased to say" that he thought the cost of the suit and settlement drove TSR to sell the rights to the game.

While reportedly unimpressed with the current edition of the Dungeons and Dragons game, he created adventures and settings that could be used with it, which were published by Troll Lord Games.

Gygax went well beyond the role of game developer and became an icon to gamers, appearing as himself in episodes of Futurama and Code Monkeys and participating in discussions on roleplaying-related message boards.

Gygax had been in poor health for some time, according to his wife Gail. Chenault says he will publish more information, including funeral arrangements, on the Troll Lord message board as it becomes available.

09:10 am: Yeah Secret Energy Meetings
"In the late spring of 2001, Vice President Cheney held a series of top secret meetings with the representatives of Exxon-Mobil, Conoco, Shell and BP America for what was later called the Energy Task-force. Their job, ostensibly, was to map out America’s Energy future. Since late 2001 several public interest groups, including the very conservative Judicial Watch, sued to have the proceedings of those meetings opened to public scrutiny. In March 2002, the Commerce Department turned over a few documents from the Task-force meetings to Judicial Watch, among which was the map of Iraq’s Oil Fields, dated March 2001 (above) and a list of the existing “Foreign Suitors” for Iraq Oil. Since that time, Cheney’s office has fought fiercely (and so far, successfully), right up to the Supreme Court, to keep the proceeding secret and to keep any of the private industry officials from disclosing any information about the meetings. Since we all now know the Bush administration’s energy policy, there can be only one explanation for the extraordinary efforts Cheney has taken to keep this secret–he was discussing the potential for a takeover of Iraq’s oil  with the companies that might manage the resource, even before 9/11 gave him the excuse to do it."

06:53 pm: Jaime?!?!
But I like anything that calls me a "badass."

Your Score: Jaime Lannister

You scored 260 Adaptability, 250 Humor, 210 Integrity and 220 Activity!

There are no men like me. There is only me.

You are Jaime Lannister.

Also known as The Kingslayer, you are a complex person. You are easily amused and, much like your brother Tyrion, you aren't one to keep your considerable wit to yourself. People tend to think you're arrogant and morally bankrupt, but you do have your own kind of integrity. You are very loyal to those you involve yourself with and you are far more insightful about yourself than people realize. Unfortunately, you are also far more confused about yourself than people realize. You are physically active and you are willing to work extremely hard to overcome obstacles. You are undeniably gutsy, though you can also be cocky and impulsive. You are quick-witted, complicated, and badass.

You are also similar to Tyrion Lannister and Sandor Clegane. Your polar opposite is Catelyn Stark.

09:56 pm: Applebees ain't nothin' special
As I mentioned in my last post I'm doing Weight Watchers. Nicole reminded me that Applebee's has a Weight Watchers friendly menu. Excellent, we usually eat out on the drive to my Mom's house and there was one less than 5 miles out of our way. So we stopped.

It wasn't the limited menu or the health choice quasi-forced on you (that is the point of Weight Watchers). No, it was the fact that I paid $9.49 for a 3oz steak, 1 cup of steamed broccoli, & 1/2 steamed potatoes (about 1/2 of a red potato). Where as I could've gotten a House Sirloin @ 9oz, 2 sides (broccoli and a baked potato minus the butter & sour cream) for $2 more. You're telling me that 6oz of meat only costs $2??!!??

I know people want a meal at about 7 pts (my meal) but I don't feel that it should cost as much as a whole freaking steak when they are only serving 1/3 of one! Oh yeah and apparently the cook didn't fraking understand MEDIUM-RARE mean that there should be some shade of pink involved, preferably red.

Since I now have 11+ points left I'm going to go see about some ice cream. Gnight.

11:30 am: No Resolution - Just Life
Well Wednesday I joined Weight Watchers. Last January my Dad had a major event with his diabetes and it scared me. So I started trying to loose weight on my own. I think I did pretty well for 3 or 4 months. But I didn't have a scale that went high enough to weigh me and I didn't notice a physical change. I was definitely eating healthier though. The slowly, as always has happened in the past, I got discouraged at the lack of progress and gave up. Since I the move, I've been kinda down, which has encouraged bad eating habits to come back with a vengeance. Last week my Mom told me that she and Pat (stepfatherish) were joining Weight Watchers and would foot the bill to help encourage me to join. So I put it off for a couple more days and finally stopped making excuses/procrastinating and joined up.

01:47 pm: It's Snowing!!!
I know for those of you in Michigan or Illinois or other mid-western states it may not seem exciting, but for me here in Virginia, it is! Nicole and Xavier has reported seeing it snow other places in the city but I haven't seen it here at the apartment. YEAH! If it had just done it on Christmas I would've been completely happy.
